My dad gave me a computer when I was seven, and my curiosity hasn't stopped since. I taught myself Adobe Flash at nine to animate, Premiere at eleven to cut gaming videos, and built my own keyboard at fourteen, which is probably where the 135 words a minute comes from.
Through high school, I worked part-time at a Chinese restaurant, and the wages went into my photography. I bought my first camera at seventeen, tested out of high school that same spring, and by eighteen I'd self-funded trips to Iceland, Italy, and Japan. A shot from that trip to Italy was published and hung on the walls of the community college where I finished my associate's degree.
Around then, I started my longest project to date: a Dungeons & Dragons campaign with 175,000+ words of prepared material, a session every other week, and an ending (which is the one thing most campaigns never reach). I finished it the month I graduated from Berkeley. While it was still running, the Bullethunters trailer came out of that world: I learned Blender for the 3D, wrote the script, paid and directed artists for the first time, and put it on a YouTube channel with no audience, where it found 104K views.
These days, I'm a part-time content creator on TikTok, and it books the freelance portrait work. I still write film criticism nobody assigned. This website is the most recent thing I taught myself to build.
